Set up InStock Tracker™ Assistant
Last updated
InStock Tracker Assistant comes with every plan from $9.99 (Family Plus, Family Pro, Turbo, Turbo Max and Elite) at no extra cost. Once it's set up, tapping Buy now (on our site or in an alert email, Telegram, Discord or SMS message) opens that exact iPhone on apple.com, sets it up, adds it to your Apple bag and opens the review page. You review the bag and place the order yourself.
Disclaimer: InStock Tracker Assistant is an optional convenience feature of InStock Tracker (DK825, LLC), provided "as is", with no guarantee. It may not always work, for example when Apple changes its website. Always check your bag and order before you pay. We are not affiliated with Apple and are not responsible for orders, prices, stock or anything on apple.com.
Before you start
- A computer with Google Chrome (Windows, Mac, ChromeOS or Linux). It doesn't work on phones or tablets, because Chrome on mobile doesn't support extensions. There, Buy now still opens apple.com with the iPhone set up.
- InStock Tracker Assistant turned on in My account (its switch is on and it says "On since …"). You chose this right after buying your plan; you can change it anytime.
Install it (about 1 minute)
- On your computer, open Google Chrome.
- Open the InStock Tracker Assistant page on the Chrome Web Store: the link appears here the day it goes live (we'll email it to you too).
- Click "Add to Chrome", then "Add extension" in the box that appears.
- Pin it (optional): click the puzzle-piece icon at the top right of Chrome, then the pin next to InStock Tracker Assistant.
- Sign in to InStock Tracker in that same Chrome: go to instocktracker.com, click Sign in and use the email address on your plan. The assistant uses this sign-in to check your plan.
That's it. The next time you tap Buy now on this computer, InStock Tracker Assistant does the rest up to your Apple bag.
While it works
It takes a few seconds. A note at the bottom of Apple's page says what it's doing. Please don't click, scroll or close the Apple tab until it says it's done; it holds off stray clicks so nothing changes by accident. If Apple's page doesn't respond, it tries up to 3 times, then tells you how to finish yourself.
If it isn't working
Nothing happens on Apple's page, or the note never appears? Go through these steps in order:
- Check it's turned on: on InStock Tracker, open My account. The InStock Tracker Assistant switch should be on ("On since …"). If you just switched it on, go to step 4.
- Check you're signed in in this Chrome: My account should show the email address on your plan (from $9.99). If it says Sign in, sign in with that email.
- Reload the extension: in Chrome's address bar, type chrome://extensions and press Enter. Find InStock Tracker Assistant, make sure its switch is on, then turn it off and back on (or click its reload arrow ↻ if you see one). This loads its latest version.
- Start again from InStock Tracker: close the Apple tab, go back to InStock Tracker and tap Buy now again. It only starts on an Apple page opened from Buy now, not on an Apple tab that was already open.
- Still nothing? Quit Chrome completely, open it again and repeat step 4. If it still doesn't start, contact support with a screenshot of Apple's page and of chrome://extensions.
Other help
- It shows "sign in to InStock Tracker in this browser": sign in at instocktracker.com in the same Chrome (step 5 of Install it).
- It says Apple's page didn't respond: it already tried 3 times. Finish on Apple's page yourself: choose anything still blank (like AppleCare), then tap Add to Bag.
- Turn it off: My account → switch InStock Tracker Assistant off. You can also remove the extension from chrome://extensions.
